Terms of Use
Proxmox-ve.org is an independent website created by fans to publish general educational information about Proxmox Virtual Environment. It is not owned, operated, sponsored, approved, endorsed, or supported by Proxmox Server Solutions GmbH or its affiliates. By using this website, you accept these terms and acknowledge that it is an unofficial resource.
Editorial information, not official documentation
Our articles explain general concepts related to virtualization, storage, networking, clusters, backup, security, and operations. They are not official product manuals, release notes, security advisories, warranties, or consulting advice for a particular environment. Behavior can vary with the Proxmox VE release, hardware, firmware, guest operating systems, storage backends, network design, subscription, and local policy. Current official documentation and the instructions of the responsible administrator always take priority.
No software distribution
This site does not host or distribute ISO images, packages, enterprise repository credentials, license material, backup archives, configuration files, certificates, private keys, passwords, or API tokens. References to a download are informational and do not authorize a deployment. Obtain software only from the official project or a source approved by the organization that owns the servers, and verify media before use.
No support relationship
Reading a page, sending editorial feedback, or using the demonstration form does not create a customer, consulting, support, employment, or agency relationship. We cannot open official tickets, repair a host, recover a cluster, validate a migration, restore a backup, or provide access to a subscription repository. Product support questions should go to the responsible IT team, an authorized service provider, or the official channels available to the customer.
Trademarks and intellectual property
Proxmox, Proxmox VE, Proxmox Virtual Environment, and other product or company names belong to their respective owners. Their use identifies the subject of independent commentary and does not imply affiliation. Original text published here may not be represented as official Proxmox material. Linked documents, software, images, and trademarks remain subject to the rights and licenses of their owners.
User and organization responsibility
Each reader is responsible for complying with law, software licenses, internal policy, and authorized change procedures. Do not test instructions on production systems without approval, verified backups, a rollback plan, and an understanding of the affected storage and network paths. The organization remains responsible for architecture, capacity, monitoring, access control, backup, change management, and recovery testing.
Infrastructure and security incidents
If you suspect compromised credentials, unauthorized console access, lost data, ransomware, or a cluster-wide fault, use the incident procedure of the responsible organization immediately. Do not send sensitive evidence through this website. Preserve relevant logs through an approved process and contact qualified personnel rather than making uncontrolled changes based on general information.
Comparisons and external links
Product comparisons are high-level editorial summaries, not promises that one platform will be best in every situation. Features, prices, support terms, compatibility, and licensing may change. External links are provided for context; we do not control their availability, security, content, or privacy practices. Linking to a company or social profile does not create a partnership or endorsement.
Availability and limitation of liability
We work to keep the website clear and internally consistent, but it is provided as available without guarantees of completeness, fitness, uninterrupted access, or freedom from error. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the project and its contributors are not liable for damage arising from reliance on general information, unauthorized changes, unverified downloads, failed backups, downtime, data loss, or violation of an organization's policies.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the project develops. Continued use after publication means that the current terms apply. Editorial questions may be sent to support@proxmox-ve.org. Questions about official accounts, subscriptions, repositories, or product support must be directed to the relevant official or organizational channel. Last updated: August 27, 2026.
